The missing piece in a welcome-bonus decision is often the exact offer attached to your account: its wagering requirement, eligible games, expiry date and withdrawal rules. A headline percentage or advertised free spins cannot show whether a New Zealand player can meet those conditions or withdraw the resulting balance. Check the offer as a set of written terms, not as a promise inferred from a banner.

This guide explains what to save and what to ask for if a bonus, balance or withdrawal at Casino Cosmo does not match your understanding. The focus is practical verification for players in New Zealand in 2026: keep a record of the offer shown to you, the transactions that followed and any support response. That evidence can help distinguish a misunderstanding from a discrepancy that needs a formal explanation.

Evaluation goal: trace the offer from acceptance to withdrawal

Build a simple timeline. First record the promotion and the terms visible when you accepted it. Then note the deposit, bonus credit, gameplay and withdrawal request, including dates and amounts. Your goal is to establish which balance was cash, which was bonus funds, what play-through was still outstanding and whether any restriction was applied. If the operator’s account history uses labels you do not recognise, ask support to define them in writing.

Before depositing, confirm whether the promotion is available to your account and whether it requires an opt-in code or a separate activation. Check the minimum and maximum deposit, the currency used for the calculation, the wagering multiple and the amount to which it applies. A requirement may apply to the bonus alone or to the deposit and bonus together; those produce very different totals. For example, a 30-times requirement on a $20 bonus means $600 in qualifying stakes, while the same multiple on a $20 deposit plus $20 bonus means $1,200. Treat this as an illustration, not a claim about a particular offer.

Compact evidence checklist

• Offer terms: Save a full-page screenshot showing the promotion name, date, opt-in steps, wagering calculation, expiry, maximum bet, eligible games, excluded games and any maximum cash-out.
• Account details: Keep the bonus-history entry, balance breakdown, account status and any message confirming that the offer was added or removed.
• Transaction records: Download or capture deposit and withdrawal entries with timestamps, amounts, currency, payment method and transaction references. Keep bank or payment-provider confirmations too.
• Play records: Save the casino’s game history around the relevant period, including game title, stake, result and time. Note if a game appears excluded or contributes at a reduced rate.
• Support trail: Retain chat transcripts and emails. Ask for a case number, the precise term relied on, the calculation used and any missing document needed to review the issue.
• Product details: Record the promotion’s exact name and the game or payment option involved. Similar offer names can have different conditions.

Read the signals: what strengthens or weakens a claim?

Strong signals are dated and consistent. A saved terms page matches the offer in your account; the deposit receipt matches the casino transaction; and the play history supports your calculation of eligible stakes. A clear support reply that cites a particular clause and shows how the remaining wagering total was worked out is useful, even if you disagree with its conclusion. Keep the original files where possible rather than relying only on cropped images.

Weak signals include a search-result snippet, an old promotion copied from a third-party page, a banner without its conditions or a memory of what the cashier displayed. A balance screenshot by itself cannot show whether funds were restricted by bonus rules. Nor does a pending withdrawal alone prove that a payment has been refused: identity checks, payment processing and account review may affect timing. Ask what stage the request is at and what evidence, if any, is required. Do not send passwords, one-time codes or full card details in a support message.

Proceed or pause: a New Zealand player’s decision point

Proceed cautiously only when the terms are available before acceptance, the calculation is understandable, the currency and payment conditions are clear, and support can explain how the rules apply to your account. Save the evidence before you opt in, then check the account history after each important step. If you choose to play, set a budget you can afford to lose; a bonus does not make a deposit safer or guarantee a return.

Pause before depositing or adding funds if material terms are missing, the wagering basis is ambiguous, the cash-out cap is unclear, or the offer shown in your account differs from the saved conditions. Also pause if support will not identify the clause behind a restriction, or if you are asked to pay an unexpected fee to release a withdrawal. Request a written explanation and preserve every reply. For a New Zealand resident, check current official guidance on online gambling and consumer support before escalating a dispute; do not assume an overseas operator follows the same process as a local provider.

A reliable decision rests on records, not reassurance. Keep the promotion, account and payment evidence together, compare each event against the terms in force at the time, and ask focused questions where the figures do not line up. If the answer remains incomplete, wait rather than making another deposit to resolve uncertainty.
